The Tea Tree Gully Poetry Festival is a biennial festival celebrating poetry as a modern artistic outlet, enabling access to an often misunderstood form of expression.
In 2017 the Tea Tree Gully Poetry Festival officially opens Thursday 26 October at a special launch event hosted at Glen Ewin Estate in Houghton. This exciting evening will feature poetry recitals from well known local poets, an open mic, raffle, door prizes and more.
Judy Dally, our 2017 poet-in-residence, will host a poetry workshop at Tea Tree Gully Library on Thursday 9 November 2-4pm.
This year, we are putting on a ‘Poetry at the Pub’ event at The Gully Hotel, on Thursday 16 November. This new event is open to anyone who loves composing a cheeky verse!
The Festival officially closes at the Library on Wednesday 29 November where the Poet-in-Residence provides a festival overview, and we present prizes to the poetry competition winners.

Hosted by the North Eastern Writers and supported by the City of Tea Tree Gully Library, the Tea Tree Gully Poetry Festival brings poetry to the people.
